Year in Review | 2014
I can't believe that 2014 is over! This year has brought a roller coaster of emotions, some extremely great moments and some that were not so great. Today I wanted to share some of the highlights of our 2014 year in little squares. For the past 3 years I have made a book of all of my Instagram photos from that year and given it to Jeff as a Christmas present. It is one of my favorite gifts because it lets me sit down and go through and relive all of the things we did. This post is similar in nature. I want to highlight the fun times we had this year and I realize I never shared all of our travel photos from the year, so here they are! The group above are from the a trip to Tybee Island that we took with friends to see another friend get married. The group below is from the beginning of Summer when we went to Colorado, which you can see the original posts here and here.
In the middle of the Summer we took a trip to Southern California. Jeff and I both love to visit California so much. Jeff was going to there for a work conference so we decided to make a little vacation out of it. We flew out early and spent several days exploring La Jolla, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Palm Springs, where we stayed at The Parker, and then finally ended up in San Diego. I'm really missing that warm, beachy sunshine now that it is in the middle of winter. Soon after we got back from California, we went to a Mountain house with a group of our close friends.
Below is from our road trip from Colorado to Atlanta. We bought a new car for Jeff and they do not sell the trim model that we wanted anywhere in the Southeast, but they have plenty sitting on the lot in Colorado. So for our anniversary this year we decided to make a trip out of it and fly to Denver and pick it up and then drive back home. We spent one day in Colorado and then headed out towards Kansas. We spread it out over 4 days and made stops along the way in Kansas City, where we stayed with one of Jeff's former coworkers, ate lunch in St. Louis, stopped at a lake in Illinois, and stayed at the cutest Airbnb ever in Nashville.
2014 has been quite the year. I thoroughly enjoyed going through all of the highlights and reflecting, but now I am ready for the next chapter of our lives. We are starting off 2015 with a big, new, exciting change; we are buying a house! We close on January 30 and I can't wait to make the new house our home. So far our home buying process has been very pleasurable, which we are both really grateful for. I will definitely be updating this space with all of our inspiration, progress, and findings as we delve into the world of home ownership. I hope you had a lovely holiday season and that 2015 is starting out just how you would like it to!
